Yummy People Another Beachside Horror Story
First published 2024
It's 2079, and for one hundred years, Diane Sharp has lived with a parasite that feeds off of other people's life energy to survive, and to keep her, its human host, young, and healthy. Unwilling to give into its evil appetite and lose herself to it, Diane has only fed it a steady diet of good and positive energy to keep it under control. But it thrives on chaos, fear, and pain, so it is clearly not happy with the menu. After living in isolation for decades to keep it under control, Diane goes home to Ormond Beach for her late husband's funeral. And, now this creature that lives within her, that she has sacrificed so much of her life for to imprison, has had enough. It's hungry. And, Diane is the only one who can stop it from driving humanity insane to satiate itself. She's helped along the way by a disgruntled former employee (and one of the parasite's favorite, old snacks), holographic infotainment, an AI taxi with the personality of a Brooklyn cabbie, and the head of security for Holoworld, a holographic attraction in the vast tourist trap of The Orlandoplex. But Diane isn't sure she is strong enough to resist the incredible power that the parasite gives her.
