Isolated by grief. Tormented by a stranger. Haunted by a secret that refuses to stay buried. Where peace ends, paranoia begins for Josh Geary. Isolated in Colombia's Cortés Valley after the death of his wife, Josh lives a quiet existence with his pets and a close-knit circle of friends. But the lush valley that once promised Josh healing becomes the stage for something far darker when a cagey American missionary named Walter Parrish moves in next door. A local resident vanishes. A dog narrowly escapes death. And Josh feels eyes watching him. Walter says he's come to Colombia to save souls, but Josh can't shake the suspicion that his new neighbor is the source of the valley's troubles. Escalating tensions rattle Josh's emotions as he realizes that Walter's divine facade could mask evil intentions. Fearing for the lives of his pets and neighbors, Josh recruits his closest friend to help dig into Walter's past. Shock overwhelms Josh as they uncover a history steeped in violence, coercion, and spiritual corruption. As they delve deeper into Walter's life, Josh begins to question his own sanity as he struggles with dark impulses that torment his thoughts.
