The Intern

A young woman’s internship in the finance industry is rife with intrigue, manipulation, and romp-y sex in this suspense story, perfect for fans of Freida McFadden and John Grisham. Cat Turner is a long shot. Despite her working-class background, she gained entrance to the vaunted Ivy League (on scholarship) and excelled in the fiercely competitive environment while working menial jobs to pay for books. Now, it’s Cat’s time to shine. The only thing better than landing an internship at Phoenix Global Capital, or PGC—one of the most prestigious investment banking firms in the world—is to report directly to Tucker Summers, the handsome industry bad boy and white-hot star at PGC. Under Tucker’s guidance, Cat’s internship should lead to a job offer that will rescue her from crushing student loan debt and start her on the path that her “nepo baby” colleagues enjoy. But Cat soon realizes just how difficult her goal might be in the high-stakes world of finance. From the start, it seems that Tucker is simultaneously flirting and toying with Cat, pitting her against his other intern Alexandria McLean-Fuller, a sickeningly rich, designer-bound daughter of a senior member of PGC’s board.
