Stuck on the Yarrrrrr: visual poetry

"Stuck on the Yarrrrrr is a collection of visual and typographic poems by David Alpaugh, mixing shaped/concrete pieces with narrative, satirical, and ekphrastic texts. The volume ranges from childhood vignettes and workplace portraits to literary and philosophical send-ups (Aeschylus, Villon, Shakespeare), meditations on technology and media culture, and humorous treatments of religion, mortality, and everyday life. Several poems adopt hybrid or prose-poem forms; others deploy page design as part of meaning. The book includes author's notes, acknowledgments, and illustrations that complement the visual poetics, presenting a broad sampling of Alpaugh's wit, social observation, and formal play"-- Provided by publisher.
