Heartsworn: a gargoyle monster romance

"June Parkhurst is a powerful empath. Yet, her gift doesn't feel like a present; more like a curse, one that's driven successive generations of the women in her family mad. Determined to live a moderately normal life, June has isolated herself on her family estate, sticking to what she loves most: statues. They are a beautiful, contained, and manageable sampling of the human experience. June's loved statues all her life, inspired by the gothic masterpiece that stands in the estate's rose garden. He hangs on their fleeting moments together, wishing she could somehow free him from his prison. For as she grows older, Alaric knows exactly who June is-heartsong. It's that statue that finally gets June out into the world, for a mysterious new museum with enigmatic owners has just opened, full of statues just like hers.
